Week 1- Why The Theme

I chose this blog theme for various reasons. I was reluctant to make a decision at first. This reminded me of when I first started to use social media. This was back when Myspace was a thing. All the different types of layouts and coding I would have to work with in order to have the perfect page. Now that I realize it the Myspace days have actually helped me in setting up my own website, very similar to this. The coding I was able to make and change now impress me. All that time I was helping out my future business self.

The picture in the background was selected because I love the design. It gave me the sense of a vintage vibe. I love vintage things and I like the color as well. The swirls is what caught my eye at first, and then the dark colors. One of my favorite colors is black and with this nice red tone it has with the pattern makes it look very pretty and personalized.

I then managed to change the color of the page. I thought a burgundy would look nice, again another of my favorite colors. The red makes the page stand out but also doesn't take away from the patterns in the background. Then I realized the font is also able to change to my liking. I first I wanted to add a font that is similar to an Old English or Amador, but then I noticed the option this site gives is limited. I could have gone with the font that is similar to the ones of my liking but it wouldn't be easily legible. I want to make sure my readers are able to see and read the font to what it actually is. I learned that font can make a big difference on a website every aspect matters even the smallest detail.

  1. Hi Citlaly! I did not really get to experience Myspace but I have heard a lot about it and it is really cool that you found that setting that up has helped you since then. I love the design of the background as well, and you're right, it definitely feels vintage. Font is definitely important, and it is smart that you decided to go with one that will be more legible.

  2. Hi Citlaly, OMG, myspace. Miss it completely. I love your background. It did remind of old fashion hotels back in the day when all the wall paper would be the same, however with that beige/brown thing going on. (LOL). The background has a Victorian feel to it, with sophistication.

  3. Loved the Victorian Vibe to your blog, who would've though that my space or Hi5 so basic at the time and yet what we currently have is basically a prettier version of the same.
